Pelvic Floor Therapy

We offer pelvic floor therapy for men and women at Freedom Physical Therapy and Fitness. Schedule an appointment with us today.

About the Pelvic Floor

The pelvic floor consists of muscles and ligaments from the pubic bone to the sacrum and coccyx. The main functions of the pelvic floor include supporting the pelvic organs, stabilizing the pelvis and spine, and assisting with sexual function.

Pelvic Floor Therapy is a non-surgical approach to the treatment of pain or dysfunction. Our trained Pelvic Floor Therapist will perform an evaluation and determine an individualized treatment plan with the goal of easing or alleviating symptoms in order to increase quality of life.

Pelvic Health Awareness

Myth: Just do your kegels. That will solve it.

Fact: Kegels are not beneficial for everyone, and can actually worsen symptoms for those with overactive muscles.

Myth: Leaking and incontinence is a normal part of aging.

Fact: It is common, but not considered normal. It is a pelvic floor dysfunction and may be treated.

Myth: Pelvic floor dysfunction only affects postpartum women.

Fact: Anyone, regardless of age and gender, can experience pelvic floor dysfunction.
